A few years back I got a hold of a handful of ideas and a desire share tools, tips, and tricks about my pursuits and learnings. As I followed the traditional convention to have blogs dedicated to each subject or topic I quickly had three separate blogs, three different sites, and numerous topics to stay focused on day in and day out. The effort was fun but tedious. However, as I would focus on one subject for a period, the other two sites would become static and stale for long periods of time which is in super technical terms "No Bueno". My approach was not working!
In 2017 I decided to consolidate all my efforts into PRsMakeLifeBetter. PRs is a blog and a community dedicated to sharing tools, resources, and stories aimed at equipping, motivating and celebrating. On PRs you will find product and book reviews, resource pages, blog posts and video posts about lessons learned from my experiences and the experiences of others or "how-to"s in alignment with our mission help you accomplish your next PR at home, work or the gym!
What does that look like or mean for PRs?
It means if you or I find a great product that makes life a little easier! That belongs on PRs! Overcome a personal challenge? That belongs on PRs! Find a technology that can enable your business or improve your impact at work? That belongs on PRs! Find a tip that helps with double-unders? That belongs on PRs! Hit a new PR at work, at home or in the gym? That belongs on PRs!
What does PRs Make Life Better Mean?
PRs Make Life Better is about the journey to overcome our challenges (mental, physical and spiritual) and to celebrate our victories in community with others chasing the cultivation of their potential and refusing to settle for the status quo!
The Personal Record (PRs)
PR stands for Personal Record (PR). A PR is the measure of your best effort. PRs are generally measured in sports. Your fastest mile run, your max bench press or the most points you have scored in a game.
Each time you record a personal record you have a physical measure of growth and measurable manifestation of all your the discipline, dedication, and effort. At PRs we extend this concept to all aspects of life beyond sports. You may grow physically or mentally stronger. You may improve your business, your relationships or your level of productivity; those are all PRs. At PRs we strive to grow in the gym, at work or at home!
Make Life Better
Nothing in life stands still. If you are not actively moving forward in pursuit of living, you are passively letting life slip by as you lose capacity in your health, competencies, and relationships. At PRs we believe a life lived in pursuit of the best "You" makes your life and the life of those around you better!
Most importantly PRsMakeLifeBetter is about community. It is about growing, maintaining and contributing to a community of people who are going to celebrate your accomplishments and encourage you through your struggles. It is about those in pursuit of their own "hustle" in fellowship with a group of like-minded people who have decided that they are actively in pursuit of a life well lived. You can find our public page on Facebook at PRs Make Life Better HQ. Were anyone is free to share PR videos, tips, and tricks and carry on the spirit of PRs in a community. PRs also consist of a closed group for a more intimate and personal connection to the community. To join this group, you must share a friend connection with someone already in the group. This measure ensures that everyone in the group has a real-life connection to the community.
PRsMakeLifeBettter is also my blog. It is my place to share anything and everything as I pursue life. I hope that I might just stumble upon something that is helpful for others so they can either avoid my mistakes or benefit from my curiosity. My curiosity? Feels like every day I am adding something to my list of items to explore. Generally speaking as of lake the list of interests appears to be entrepreneurship, professional development, technology, fatherhood, CrossFit, photography, data science and digital marketing. Ask me again in 6 months, and the list might be a little different. This also gives me a bit a liberty to share on a variety of topics that I hope will find the right person at the right time and provide some value to them in their endeavors.
Manifesto! What a great word. Seriously how often in life do you get to use the word manifesto!
